People Who Smile
By
John I. Blair
People who smile
Aren’t always
Kind within.
I read once
That a chimpanzee
With a toothy grin
Is scared
And about to bite.
So I try to mind
If smiles I see
Are truly warm and glowing
Or might instead
Be fangs bared.
