Never Forget

By Walt Perryman

(I hope you enjoy your freedom today,)

We must never forget the soldiers we lost,
Our freedom has come at a very high cost.

From Valley Forge until today,
The ultimate price they had to pay.

They gave up their life for you and me,
So, we can live in this ‘land of the free.’

Songs Mom Sang

By Bud Lemire

As I kept busy around my apartment, a song went through my head
A song that was sung long ago, today I sang that song instead
It brought me back there, as I sang that song
I felt she was with me, singing right along

Mom sang a lot of songs, these days they mean so much
Deep are these memories, in my heart they touch
Even though the song, was popular before I came to be
The songs she sang then, mean the world to me

Her Mom taught piano lessons, and played in a band
The love for music in our family, is easy to understand
One cousin I had talked with, said she was taught to play
By my Grandmother, although this Cousin passed away

Mom loved to sing, and she'd sing every day
She loved my music, when the turntable would play
She had her favorite songs, of the records that I had
To see her smile as they played, always made me glad

I'd like to think the music, is something to hold dear
When things bring you down, it brings endless cheer
I play all the songs, that Mom used to sing
Knowing those special memories, that each one will bring

                              Author Note:

Every day is Mothers Day when you are thinking of that
special woman who gave her best to give you the best.
When I think of people who tell me their childhoods
weren't that good. I think back to my childhood, and smile.
I am so glad music was brought into my life, and I enjoyed
it. To this day, music is a big part of my life. I thank Mom
for carrying on the family tradition, so that I could as well. .

Beyond Compare

By Bruce Clifford

He has your eyes
She has your hair
You did it well
Beyond compare

I see it now
Just like a dream
We once knew how
It was a precious thing

I know there is so much to learn
So many reasons to cry
I’m dying inside

Why did you tell them to tell me not to call
It was almost a kiss
Did it mean anything at all

Why couldn’t you tell me it was too much at once
What had become of you
Now I’m learning to see
Belson, look what became of me

Be Happy

By Walt Perryman

When you have what you need, but you want more,
Is that not why Adam and Eve left the Garden for?

It is o.k. to improve yourself and by working hard,
But it can all be lost, by being dealt the wrong card.

But, when you love Jesus Christ with a true heart,
He will stay by your side, and you’ll never be apart.

If you can do a good day’s work for a good day's pay.
And a few loved ones are all you need for a good day.

Here is one more thing you may need to do.
That would be a good dog to love and love you.

Offense Is Over The Fence

By Bud Lemire

I see, I saw, and then I heard
People being offended by a word
Oh no, please not Dr. Suess
Someone has a cooked goose

People are too picky, with the names
I think too much, is mind games
Not Pepe Le Pew, it's just for fun
I'm disappointed, and it's no pun

Too much has been taken away
Too many people have gone astray
Enough already, don't ban no more
There'll be nothing left to explore

Once they start, they will not quit
I think their brains are where they sit
Once an Eskymo, I'll always be
I take no offense, with what I see

A cockamanie business, this offensive crap
To take these characters off the map
My name is Bud, and don't you say
That I am Rose or Pot, and I'll be okay

                            Author Note:

If you started changing things because it
offends someone, I take offense. What was
should still be. Do you have nothing better
to do than to find offensive things and take
them away. I find the people who are doing
this, very offensive to me. They are taking
away everything we loved when we were kids.
I could go through and find many shows on TV
offensive to someone, but why should I, when I
enjoy them. I accept them for what they are.
This offense has gone over the Fence. .
